Coaches Report

The Leaque came to an end with the last game against JOMO COSMOS in what was a tale of two extremes.

Unfortunately, the loss for Cosmos meant that they were automatically demoted, but for us the victory served as confirmation of a place in the TOP 8.

After a slow and inconsistent start to the season we managed to secure one of the goals set out for the 2009/2010 season. This could only happen with the combined commitment of the players, technical staff, kit personnel and the medical department. Needless to say, everyone in the club has had a hand in this success, for without them all we could not have focused on our task and for this I am truly grateful.

To the players who have given so much up to now, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for all their hard work, they deserve to be proud of their acheivement.

We have come a long way this season. It hasn't been easy, but the one thing that has become clear is that we have a great bunch of professionals at MOROKA SWALLOWS.

Without trying to exclude anyone in particular, I would like to single out some of the youngsters like KEEGAN RICHIE, AUGUSTON LEONARD, SUBUSISO KHUMALO, ACE BHENGU, QUINTON RAMAHLWE MPHAPHLELE, BRIAN MASHISHI and VINCENT KOBOLA for their excellent performances.

They were however very well supported by the more senior and mature players such as LEFA TSUTSULUPA, GREG ETAFIA, ASHRAF HENDRICKS, SIYABONGA NOMVETHE and THOMAS CICHON. This combination of youth and experience was certainly one of the major factors contributing towards our success.

I hope that our recent success will continue during the following months to come especially when we consider that we are the defending NEDBANK CHAMPIONS.

The Telkom Cup will be a trophy that we would like to add our name to and then there's the AFRICAN CUP, a competition that I hold so much hope for.

That's all for now, but remember...

DON'T LOOK FOR THE NEXT OPPORTUNITY.
THE ONE YOU HAVE IN HAND IS THE OPPORTUNITY.
